Jubilee class No. 5552 Silver Jubilee

King George V's Silver Jubilee was an irresistible marketing opportunity for the railways. While the LNER launched the glamourous Silver Jubilee streamlined express, its arch-rival the LMS nipped in first and grabbed the Silver Jubilee name, albeit for a more mundane locomotive. Jubilee class leader, No. 5552, did receive a special high gloss black livery with chromium trim.
